Tell us about your practice "Our lives have been so much easier because of the medical records."
How do your new clinicians learn to use ICANotes and what do they like about it? "They like the functionality, the ease of use, and the portability."
Who else uses ICANotes in addition to your psychiatrists? "Everybody all the way from the psychiatrists to social workers to counselors to our office staff."
Is the ability to access records when out of the office helpful? "On-call providers not familiar with a patient access ICANotes to treat patients on the weekend."
Have any staff been reluctant to use a computer? "Yes, a psychologist who had never used a computer was functioning perfectly within 2 weeks. He loves the ease of it."
Have you received any feedback on your notes from outside your practice? "Our referring primary care physicians immediately commented...'Wow, this is a thorough note. You've got everything on here. You haven't missed anything.' "
How did you manage the transition from paper to paperless? "We managed to go completely paperless within the first year. The space we gained was amazing."
Do your clinicians do their notes while with the patient or after each session? "A couple of our doctors do the note in session, but our therapists prefer to make their notes between patients."
Are your clinicians using ICANotes on tablets? "We have a variety of computers that have all been successful with ICANotes from the simple desktop to the laptop to tablets. The new Dell Latitude tablet is light, portable and lets us use handwriting recognition in ICANotes."
What has your experience been with ICANotes customer support? "They're amazing. I'm immediately on the phone with somebody live and they know who I am."
Do you find value in having a psychiatrist on staff at ICANotes? "You understand on a clinical level what our doctors need on a daily basis and you have the ability to integrate those needs into your system."
How do you feel about the investment you have made in ICANotes and the return? "The convenience of what we get in return for what we are paying for ICANotes far outweighs the investment."
