Patient Signatures

ICANotes supports the use of a Topaz signature pad for capturing patient signatures on clinical documents. This is achieved using a special model of Topaz signature pad that is compatible with our software and server environment: Model Number T-LBK462-BSB-R. It must be this model number as a serial port emulator is required.

The pads can be purchased online for about $350. One potential source is Provantage.com.

The signature pad connects to a Windows-based computer or tablet using a USB port. It only works on Windows devices with the following operating systems:

Windows Server 2008 R2
Windows 7
Windows 7 x64
Windows Server 2008
Windows Server 2008 x64
Windows Vista

Windows Vista x64
Windows Server 2003

Windows Server 2003 x64
Windows XP
Windows XP x64

Signatures can be captured on any clinical note. Two signatures can be included per note (e.g., patient and parent signature).
